In today's day and age, it's much easier than you think for someone to steal your password.
Any of these common actions could put you at risk of having your password stolen:
Using the same password on more than one site
Downloading software from the Internet
Clicking on links in email messages
2-Step Verification can help keep the bad guys out, even if they have your password.
How do I enable 2FA?
To enable 2FA on your account you will need to download a time based 2FA generator app on your phone. Swyftx recommends the use of Authy (backs up to the cloud) or Google Authenticator (very popular).
Once downloaded, please navigate to the Profile Tab > About > Security and click the Setup 2FA button.
Once pressed, you will be prompted to confirm that you wish to proceed with the setup. Once you confirm this, you will be logged out and a page will appear with a QR code.
Now you will need to go into your preferred Authentication app, we recommend Google Authenticator for its ease of use. Once inside, press the little '+' Button and choose your preferred method of adding authentication.
Once added, you will be able to see a 6-digit code in your Google Authenticator app that will look like this:
Please enter this 6-digit code into the 'Enter your passcode here' field on your Swyftx 2FA enrollment page.
After entering your code, you will be shown your recovery code. Please take note of this and secure it in a safe place as you will need it if your mobile device is ever reset or lost.
If all done correctly, your account should now be successfully 2FA enrolled and you will now need your device handy when logging in.
